About Axis Outsourced Accounting
Axis Outsourced Accounting is a new start up company with roots that go back 20 years. Axis was founded by Axiom Strategic Consulting, a Southwest Florida small business advisory firm in business since 2005. The goal of creating a sister company for Axiom is twofold: 1.) Have an amazing resource for clients who have outgrown their accounting systems and or relationship, and 2.) Provide a track for future clients of Axiom to engage with the company earlier. Both of these fall under the umbrella of growing a healthy, profitable, mission-driven company. While we have ideas for Axis (that we will be happy to share), we are looking for someone who can help determine our direction and lead Axis to incredible heights.
Axis will stand out in the market by…
- Focusing on outsourcing the accounting FUNCTION. Financial books and records are our area of expertise. We will unburden them from accounting questions and decisions so they can focus on what only they can do.
- Providing business owners convenient access to easy to understand financials that are updated EVERY WEEK (no focus on month end close).
- Tracking performance against industry operating and financial KPI’s
- Communicating the most important numbers and trends in easily understandable financial/operational dashboards that provide WEEKLY insight.
- Taking the time to educate business owner’s on their financials so that they have a clear understanding of the changing picture of their financial health as reflected in the balance sheet and their financial performance as reflected in the income statement. Heavy emphasis is also placed on CASH FLOW and its relationship to both the balance sheet and income statement.
- Pairing Axis clients with an Axiom business advisor to make sure they are progressing in their growth and nearing an onboard date as a full fledged Axiom client.
About the Position
We are looking for a President to run the company, and also a future partner who is interested in becoming a business owner. You will first help us get the company established with systems, processes, a client service model and a future leadership structure. You will then be responsible for servicing our initial clients and refining all system processes and tools needed to deliver on the market differentiators above. As we grow, you will build out a team and transition to a leadership role. As the company continues to scale, we will lean on you to ensure the company continues its missional, operational and financial success. Axiom will be available to provide resources and support necessary for the growth of Axis. While you will not be responsible for driving new sales of the company (Axiom will help), it is a plus if you have a natural sales ability and/or ability to help bring in new sales.
Compensation: $65,000/yr starting base salary + profit sharing plan + ability to acquire up to 40% of Axis voting shares vested according to hitting revenue goals

Primary Accountabilities & Expectations
Head of Accounting
- Responsible for training all team members on any technical areas needed.
- Responsible for being the final answer with any accounting/financial questions
- Insure adequate compliance with record keeping and reporting laws and regulations pertaining to client accounts.
- Comply with state, federal and regulatory requirements regarding client financial records, cybersecurity and personal information.
Leadership
- Responsible for building, growing and leading a team of outsourced (remote) accountants.
- Monthly 1-1’s with each direct report.
- “Employee first” mindset - serving your team and holding yourself accountable for their success
- As the business scales, ability to hire middle managers and create levels of leadership within the organization
Operations
- Responsible for building out our systems and processes and ensuring they are able to scale as we grow.
- Build out a quality assurance function to monitor both the accuracy of the work and the relational effectiveness of accountants in their communication and interactions with clients.
- Selecting toolsets and platforms used in the delivery of work and maintaining relationships with vendors and trade partners.
Client Retention & Growth
- 100% of the clients we don't disengage from are retained (healthy attrition is necessary).
- Proactive communication with POC with clients ensuring they are aware of anything significant happening with their financials
- Solicit and receive quarterly feedback from every client POC on what is working and what is not and communicate successes and areas for focused improvement
- Weekly activity with client’s financials
- Implement referral programs to drive new client growth
- Actively address recognized issues/problems and provide solutions
Financial performance
- Maintain forecasts of projected growth of revenues and expenses and measure variances between actual performance and projections and take necessary actions to consistently improve performance.
- Steward the balance sheet to insure adequate capital for continued growth and investment returns for owners
- Maintain weekly and monthly performance dashboards to share with owners and team members.
