Conditions of Employment

Qualifications
Time in grade:
Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
In addition to the above requirement you must have at least one year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the federal government performing at least one of the following duties
-OR-Have successfully completed two (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. Specialized experience is defined as ability to modify JCL and multi-process job streams to meet production schedules in a timely manner. Knowledge of JCL to include statements override to correct irregularities and increase productivity of job streams. Knowledge of various command languages and utilities such as Control M, TSO, JES, JES-MASTER, EASYTRIEVE, JCL, C-LIST, CA-11, COBOL, IDMS-DC, CICS, FILE-AID, DFSORT, PROCS, ABEND-AID, HOUR GLASS, ABARS, DASH, EFT, etc. in order to troubleshoot and suggest corrective actions. Document and communicate technical information, complex in nature, describing scheduling, hardware, software, systems, operations, etc. problems; taking impact, cause and resolution of problem, into consideration, and present to upper management. Knowledge of interfaces and interrelationships of all the various automated accounting used by the COE in order to accommodate user request and/or to resolve conflicting priorities and processing problems.
