Position Overview
Works to secure network and system integrity and increase functionality. Monitors network and system usage for internal and external security risk and breaches. Collaborates with project team and software vendors to resolve security issues.
Responsibilities
- Works with project teams to design and implement secure network connectivity solutions, ensuring all implemented projects meet best practice security guidelines.
- Performs regular risk analysis, reporting and resolution status for incoming internet and internal security risks.
- Writes and maintains technical documentation including design docs, test plans, project plans, procedures, incident reports and troubleshooting guides.
- Analyzes, troubleshoots, and investigates security-related anomalies based on security platform reporting, network traffic, log files, host-based and network-based security alerts.
- Assists in the review, development, documentation, and communication of corporate security policies.
- Assists with the development of security tool requirements and evaluations as well as security operations procedures and processes.
- Assist in activities to raise corporate awareness of security policies.
- Reviews existing security procedures and controls.
- Participate in security compliance efforts (PCI DSS, SOX).
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in science, math, engineering, or information technology required and 2-3 years of experience working in a network security role required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Software Engineering preferred
- Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) or SANs certification preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of company products and services

- Knowledge of industry standards, methodologies, technologies, architecture and resources
- Knowledge of IS networking equipment and protocols – Checkpoint and or Cisco
- Knowledge of IS applications – SIEM, malware defense, vulnerability scanning and reporting, FIM, HIDS, NIDS.
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and attention to detail
- Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Time management skills, including punctuality for on-time attendance
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple tasks
