Job Summary
The Advising department of Jefferson Community and Technical College has an opening for an Advising Specialist.
Job Duties
This position will be responsible for
- Serve as primary desk employee for checking in students at the advising center.
- Enrollment support for add/drop needs.
- Answer basic advising questions to prevent wait times for brief concerns.
- Schedule advising appointments.
- Provide students with information on other campus resources and locations.
- Student outreach for enrollment.
- Assist students with Student User Account and Self-Service Activities, to include but not limited to:
- User Account Setup
- Completion of the Student Activity Guide.
- Completion of Probation Modules
- Self-Registration support
- Student outreach for enrollment support.
- Serves as primary virtual advising check-in for virtual RAD and virtual walk-in.
- Assists with questions and virtual room assignments.
- Assist Advisors with office task/projects as needed.
- Assist student workers with office task.
- Assist with Advising Center email account.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s Degree (related field) and three years related work experience, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidates have previous customer service and/or PeopleSoft (or similar database) experience.
