YOUR TEAM
Our corporate team is a central hub for Thales Australia. It’s where our shared services – think finance, legal, HR, procurement – come together to make sure our teams across Australia have access to the business services they need. Cross-functional collaboration helps us build out Thales’ capabilities and this role is no exception. You will report into our VP Government Relations and Corporate Affairs, oversee our Communications team and partner closely with our CEO and executive leadership team to drive business outcomes.
YOUR ROLE
Working from our Sydney HQ, Sydney Olympic Park, on Wann-gal land, your role purpose will be to lead the strategy for Thales Australia Brand Communications, ensuring the organisation is a leading voice in the defence, civil and cyber sectors in Australia.
- Develop highly sophisticated and integrated marketing, internal and external communication strategies in consultation with the Thales Australia Country Business Units (CBUs) and Functions.
- Oversee the CEO and senior leadership internal communications
- Proactively build capability and readiness for crisis and emergency response
- Manage employee engagement, Internal communications content and channels.
- Guide and govern Thales exhibitions and events agenda in line with Brand Strategy
- Oversight of the external media strategy (proactive and issues management) with execution supported by media relations, and supporting engagement with key industry associations.
- CSR and sponsorships/ESG
Your Experience
On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:
- A proven track record for developing collaborative partnerships across all levels of business, successfully supporting senior executives to improve outcomes, and negotiating with stakeholders on business objectives.
- Ability to translate strategy to action across multiple communications disciplines while leading cross functional teams to deliver these outcomes
- Proven, credible, leadership capabilities with the ability to communicate to all levels of staff
- A structured, thoughtful leader with high emotional intelligence and integrity
