Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Vice President to spearhead the development of a Water/Wastewater Construction Division. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for building and managing a high-performing team, driving growth, and delivering complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development, company growth strategy, project acquisition and execution, along with team leadership.
Company overview: 100% employee-owned company (ESOP), valued at around $300m, my client operates nationally, specialising within industrial projects. My client are seeking to expand their field and develop and new water/wastewater division out of their head-office in Salt Lake City.
Key Responsibilities:
- Division Development: Lead the creation and growth of the new Water/Wastewater Construction Division, including strategic planning, organizational design, and resource allocation.
- Business Development: Develop and execute a business development strategy to identify new opportunities, build client relationships, and secure contracts in the water/wastewater sector.
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a multidisciplinary team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage the division's budget, including revenue forecasts, cost control, and profitability targets.
- Client Engagement: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and industry partners.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all projects comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and safety protocols.
- Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and market conditions to inform strategic decision-making and maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in water/wastewater construction, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex infrastructure projects.
- Strong business development skills with experience in client relationship management, contract negotiation, and market expansion.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Comprehensive knowledge of water/wastewater industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets and P&L responsibility.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
