Job Description:
As an IT Security Analyst, you will support and manage vulnerability management scanning and reporting tools, automate processes with scripting, and conduct data analysis of vulnerability management data integrated with other Client’s enterprise services. The role involves interfacing with other client groups to improve security posture and conducting internal vulnerability audits to ensure comprehensive security procedures are in place.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and troubleshoot vulnerability management scanning and reporting tools across Linux, Windows, and UNIX environments.
- Automate processes using scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, and Python.
- Parse logs using tools like Grep, AWK, and Sed in an automated manner.
- Integrate vulnerability management data with other Client’s enterprise services.
- Conduct data analysis on vulnerability management data, often integrating it with other data sources to measure the effectiveness of remediation efforts.
- Work with other client groups to recommend improvements to the security posture and reduce vulnerabilities.
- Perform trend analysis and create dashboards using data scripting to provide metrics on security performance and controls, creating new reports based on collected metrics across multiple client groups.
- Plan, schedule, implement, and maintain scalable vulnerability scans for high-complexity devices using modern tools, ensuring minimal/no impact on scan targets and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Conduct internal vulnerability audits of servers, network devices, applications, and other devices.
- Review and validate security procedures to ensure they adequately identify and classify cyber events.
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
- 5+ years of experience in IT Security.
- Extensive experience with vulnerability management scanning and reporting tools.
- Proficiency in Linux, Windows, and UNIX administration for troubleshooting.
- Advanced skills in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python.
- Experience with log parsing using Grep, Sed, and/or AWK.
- Preferred experience with SQL ETL for integrating and analyzing large datasets.
- Experience conducting trend analysis and creating dashboards using data scripting to provide metrics on security performance.
- Ability to collaborate with other client groups and make recommendations to improve security posture and reduce vulnerabilities.
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $60.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
