Position Overview:
The Senior Director / Director of M&A will work directly under the Senior Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions and play a key role in the firm's executive team. The successful applicant will drive the firm's expansion strategy by identifying, cultivating, and executing mergers and acquisitions.
This role offers the flexibility of remote work, with occasional travel required for business meetings. The preferred candidate should reside in the Eastern or Central time zone.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the firm's senior leadership to support the company’s growth through acquisitions.
- Participate in all aspects of sourcing and outreach processes, including the use of M&A CRM tools.
- Develop and assess financial and operational processes related to mergers and acquisitions, including preparing materials for investor and Board approval.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional due diligence efforts to ensure successful M&A transactions in the small to mid-cap markets.
- Collaborate with business units on M&A activities to support strategic goals.
- Foster relationships, ensure transparent communication, and drive clarity in all interactions.
- Define, develop, and track key performance indicators, and analyze operational performance to support business development goals and strategic initiatives.
- Lead financial analysis of potential acquisitions, working closely with senior management on valuations.
- Communicate and coordinate acquisition activities and progress with finance, legal, sales, and operations teams.
- Prepare and present acquisition-related materials to key stakeholders, including the firm's executive leadership team, Board of Directors, external investors, and lenders.
- Contribute to the firm's annual growth strategy.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, quantitative analysis, or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred. A Master’s in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
- At least 3 years of experience in transaction development and execution within corporate development/M&A, preferably within a healthcare organization
- Previous experience in investment banking or private equity is required.
- Proven experience in managing transactions from start to finish, particularly in the lower middle market
- Demonstrated ability to independently source deals, especially those that are broker-led, is preferred.
- Availability to attend appointments or events during evenings or weekends if required.
