The Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing system requirements, developing, testing, installing, and modifying software, and ensuring the system's stability and performance. This role will involve system modernization and deployment, particularly within government settings, ensuring compliance with accessibility and security requirements specific to the City and County of San Francisco. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The primary work site will be based at the Rent Board's offices located at 25 Van Ness Ave, San Francisco, CA. This role may require occasional travel to other government facilities within the city. CONTRACT DURATION: Start Date: January 6, 2025 - End Date: December 31, 2026 WHAT YOU'LL DO: System Modernization: Develop a unified modular system that is web-based, hosted on the cloud, and integrates all Rent Board services. Design and Implementation: Design, develop, and implement system requirements for modernized government systems. Regular Updates & Support: Provide regular system updates in line with the latest technology trends, and ensure vendor support for at least 10 years post-deployment. Software Development: Test, install, and modify software to meet system needs. System Stability: Ensure system stability and performance through continuous monitoring and optimization. Data Migration & Integration: Ensure seamless data migration and integration with current databases and systems, while complying with all relevant security and accessibility standards. . Cloud Management: Deploy and manage cloud-based systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and security standards. Accessibility and Security: Ensure all systems meet the accessibility and security requirements of the City and County of San Francisco. WHAT YOU'LL BRING: Education and Certification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications in systems engineering, software development, or cloud technologies. Experience: Proven experience in system modernization and deployment, particularly within government settings. Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and implementing complex systems. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of system design principles, software development lifecycle, and cloud-based technologies. Familiarity with tools and frameworks commonly used in system engineering. Cloud Deployment: Experience with cloud-based system deployment and management, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards. Long-term Support: Proven experience in long-term system support and maintenance, including performance optimization and troubleshooting. Data Migration: Expertise in data migration and integration for government systems, ensuring secure and efficient transitions. Accessibility and Security: Familiarity with the accessibility and security requirements specific to the City and County of San Francisco.
