Job Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offering using commercial cloud services such as those provided as part of C2E (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
- Maintain and operate cloud environment that manages various fit-for-purpose cloud instance types including but not limited to General Compute (for regular/balanced workloads), Storage Enhanced (for workloads that require additional storage), and GPU enhanced (for workloads that require integrated GPUs).
- Implement cloud specific services that provide cost, performance, or management benefit that allows workloads to be run in accordance with cloud best practices.
- Maintain and sustain capacity management, monitoring, and dashboards to monitor the health of the IaaS environment, report on and recommend reserved instance purchases to meet static capacity demands and create dashboards for management review.
- Monitor for potential optimizations (resources, right-sizing, etc.) that would lead to improved cost or improved performance to running cloud applications.
- Share content with NASIC's organizational leadership, service owners, business managers via customizable dashboards, views, and reports.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and make recommendations for technical issues.
- Use capacity model-driven analytics for resource monitoring, planning, and optimization applicable to any object, including third-party data.
- Monitor application dependency mapping, naming, and versioning via automated application discovery and relationship visualization.
- Implement Cloud and OS-level change, configuration, patch management, hardening, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop, support, and troubleshoot scripts for automation of IT-related tasks for all system designs. Test automation in approved test environment. Assist system administrators with integration and implementation of automation.
- Work to maintain system ATO (Authority to Operate) and all appropriate controls related to keeping NASIC Cybersecurity and Air Force Intelligence Community Delegated Authorizing Official informed of changes that would impact system accreditation, via the SIA (Security Impact Analysis) program.
- Support and troubleshoot scripts written in Microsoft Powershell, Python, bash, and/or perl. Use automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, puppet, and/or chef. Use software defined techniques and integration with RESTful API's. Utilize the CI/CD pipeline and Platform processes and tools to test and approve all scripts including using the approved coding repository (e.g. BitBucket, GitLab, etc.).
- Assist in integrating applications with cloud native APIs and ensuring developers are provided with documentation on best practices to ensure secure application design.
- Work with commercial cloud providers to troubleshoot any issues that arise in implementing NASIC IaaS solutions. This may be through dedicated support cases, through conferences calls or regular office hours.
Required Experience
- Active TS/SCI Clearance.
- 1 + Years of related work experience
- Possess and maintain IAT Level II (CompTIA Security+, etc.) certification or higher as required by Air Force Manual (AFMAN) 17-1303, Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 8140.01, and DoD 8570.01-M.
