NVC is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and detail-oriented candidate for the position of Vice President, Membership Sales. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales experience to promote the value of NVC membership to current, lapsed, and prospective members. In addition, this position will oversee the day-to-day functions related to member relations, ensure member satisfaction, and expand our membership base through targeted sales strategies.
This position will supervise a senior manager and manager and will report to the CEO.
Vice President Key Responsibilities
- Sales and Outreach: Develop and implement sales strategies to recruit new members and retain existing ones through prospecting, and follow-up.
- Articulate NVC Value Proposition: Develop and deliver a clear and concise membership value pitch that highlights NVC's unique niche in the Greater Washington economy.
- Leverage Volunteer and CEO Relationships: Utilize NVC Membership Committee, CEO and Board of Directors for relationships with key prospects to connect to and close membership targets.
- Membership Engagement: Supervise membership engagement staff team to grow member engagement and increase membership retention.
Membership Engagement Team Key Responsibilities
- Member Relations: Serve as members' primary point of contact, promptly and professionally addressing inquiries and concerns.
- Membership Management: Develop and execute membership onboarding, renewal and lapsed member process; track membership statistics; and execute retention strategies.
- Database Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date member records in the association management system.
- Engagement Initiatives: Collaborate with team members across departments to develop and execute member engagement initiatives.
- Communication: Collaborate with other departments to inform members about upcoming events, benefits, and organizational updates in a timely manner.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on membership metrics and trends for NVC leadership.
Qualifications
- Experience: 10 years of experience in membership management, business development, or a sales-focused role. Experience working for a nonprofit organization or trade association preferred.
- Sales: Demonstrated success developing and executing innovative recruitment, renewal, retention and engagement strategies. Quantifiable achievements with metrics regarding revenue generation.
- Membership: Membership operations experience including AMS/CRM management, invoicing, sales, dues renewals, onboarding, committee support, customer service and record keeping.
- Staff Supervision: Experience managing and motivating a team to achieve department goals.
