Job Position - Cyber Analyst

Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Information Security Analyst to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in analyzing and applying information security principles and practices within the IT industry. This role requires expertise in reviewing IT systems and applications, coupled with a basic understanding of networking components and various operating systems. The candidate will also be expected to analyze and apply relevant NIST Special Publications, including 800-37 Revision 1, 800-53 Revisions 3, 4, or 5, and 800-53A Revision 1.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and apply information security principles and best practices to ensure the protection of IT systems and data.
- Review IT systems and applications to identify potential security vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Assess and apply security controls and frameworks as outlined in NIST Special Publications 800-37 Revision 1, 800-53 Revisions 3, 4, or 5, and 800-53A Revision 1.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security measures are integrated into the design and development of IT systems and applications.
- Conduct risk assessments and security audits to ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards.
- Provide support in the implementation and management of security tools and technologies.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in information security and networking technologies to ensure the organization’s security posture remains robust.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the IT industry with a focus on information security principles and practices.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience reviewing IT systems and applications, with basic knowledge of networking components and various operating systems.
- Proven experience in analyzing and applying NIST Special Publications, specifically 800-37 Revision 1, 800-53 Revisions 3, 4, or 5, and 800-53A Revision 1.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+.
- Experience working within an Agile environment.
- Familiarity with cloud security practices.
