Overview
This role is integral to supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) in executing the ADaPTS 2.0 initiative. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in cloud architecture, system integration, and application migration, with a strong focus on driving digital transformation and improving enterprise IT services.
Responsibilities
- Cloud Architecture and Management: Led the design, implementation, and management of cloud-based computing services, including hybrid and public cloud solutions. Ensure alignment with DHS standards and security protocols.
- Enterprise Application Design and Integration: Architect and integrate Government-Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications, ensuring interoperability and compliance with DHS policies and regulations (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST).
- Application and Service Migration: Oversee the migration of applications, data, and services to new platforms, including cloud environments. Develop scalable secure solutions for application delivery and system assurance.
- Business Process Reengineering: Analyze and optimize business processes to enable service-oriented architectures. Develop recommendations for process improvements and facilitate service orchestration.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure that all applications and services meet Federal security standards, including FISMA, Section 508, and other applicable legislation. Implement robust security controls and perform regular vulnerability assessments.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with OCIO and other DHS stakeholders to align technical solutions with organizational objectives. Facilitate meetings and provide technical expertise to support strategic decision-making.
- Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed architecture documentation, including technical requirements, design specifications, and user guides. Ensure all documentation complies with DHS policies and best practices.
- Emerging Technologies: Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML), to enhance DHS’s IT capabilities.
