Our principals have extensive experience investing in healthcare, consumer products, and regulated markets. We have been actively focused on the cannabis industry since 2015 and have recently added a new partner for Ethos Cannabis who has experience developing and leading a successful and respected cannabis operator in the U.S.
Position Summary/Objective
The Senior IT Specialist is responsible for supporting a variety of projects across the Company's cannabis dispensary and grow/processor locations, which will include multiple locations in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Ohio. This position will work closely with the Information Technology Manager, Technology Director, and IT Support staff daily. Assist with supporting the IT initiatives of Ethos, while working on problems that may be intermittent and difficult to resolve. We are building a strong ethical and team-oriented culture at Ethos Cannabis and are looking for this position to help lead and implement this vision.
We are seeking a passionate, driven, detailed-oriented and collaborative Senior IT Specialist or a current IT Specialist who is ready to move into a 2nd-3rd tier role to support the Company's technology initiatives to maximize Ethos Cannabis' sales, margin, and profit. The ideal candidate can adapt to our business model and work in a fast-paced work environment. Previous cannabis experience is a plus but not required; however, all candidates should have some familiarity and comfort with cannabis. We are looking for a proven performer willing to handle new duties and learn about modern technologies.
Responsibilities
- Work with the IT Manager to assess technological needs and
- Aid and training to additional IT support staff.
- Support dispensary staff, MSO (multistate operating) management, and Ethos state/market leadership on IT-related matters to best serve employees and customers and ensure systems are
- Support Ethos' strategic and long-range planning efforts in technology.
- Assist with hardware/software installations at new retail
- Currently a remote Monday-Friday schedule with the possibility of a weekend shift rotation schedule.
- Ability to travel when needed.
- Work with local teams to support Ethos' technology roadmap
- Assist IT Manager with controls to protect Ethos Cannabis' data and networking systems, including firewalls, switches, back-ups, and data storage
- Work with IT Manager to support key technology-intense operations including, but not limited to Ethos Cannabis' website, MJ Freeway's Seed-to-Sale tracking system, point-of-sale systems, video and electronic menu systems, telephone, computers systems, online orders, remote security access, finance and accounting, development and fundraising, communications, patient information, and coordinate the integration between key systems
- Work as 2nd tier support specialist to troubleshoot and address technology problems identified by Ethos staff and help resolve technology issues.
- Manage onboarding new IT specialists.
- Direct unresolved issues to the IT Manager.
- Pass on any feedback or suggestions from customers to the appropriate internal team(s)
- Support necessary upgrades and replacement of equipment, software, and hardware, including servers and computers, to ensure overall health of technology environment.
- Abide by all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and employee training materials and user guides.
- Contribute to and support technology plans, including disaster recovery plans and technology assessments which may be required by regulation, and review and update internal policies, protocols, and SOPs related to technology.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities related to Ethos technology infrastructure, as may be assigned.
- Assist other local functional teams in developing and implementing a best-in-class customer experience.
- Support technology needs of new and existing retail locations and of our vertically integrated grow/processor sites.
- Assist with all aspects of implementing technology with a customer-first mentality and an intense focus on company culture and ethics, customer service excellence, sales growth, and brand standards.

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or technical discipline is preferred.
Work Experience
- 4 or more years of information technology experience; combination of education and work experience will be considered.
- O365 Admin Center, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams proficient
- Understanding and willingness to learn IT infrastructure, particularly networking and firewalls. Experience with Fortinet firewalls and networks is a plus.
- Experience supporting technology initiatives and people, ideally in a retail environment.
- Considerable experience troubleshooting technology issues and resolving quickly and satisfactorily.
- Experience with the Azure cloud is a plus.
- Experience in defining system requirements with input from key stakeholders and implementing new, enterprise-wide, technology systems.
- Experience with business productivity software such as Microsoft Office, accounting software, point- of-sale systems, IOS handheld tablet integration, printer management, VOIP systems, firewalls, and security systems (including remote access), and other network management solutions.
- Work history that demonstrates stability, progressive responsibility, and willingness to accept new duties. This position will be expected to work extended hours and on weekends when needed to address emergent issues and to complete technology projects.
- Experience with modern scripting languages plus.

- Other Requirements:
- Extended time sitting, walking, bending, and reaching is possible
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds for a distance of 50 feet
- Must pass stringent background test requirements of Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Ohio
- Periodic travel to various retail and grower/processor sites in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Ohio.
Compensation
Annual salary with additional incentive compensation, depending on qualifications and experience.
This position is classified as Exempt and is not entitled to overtime pay.
