About this position:
The Server Administrator I role is responsible for assisting and helping maintain our server infrastructure, ensuring high levels of performance, availability, and security. This role involves assisting with backup and recovery management, life cycle management, security compliance, InfoSec support, software and hardware upgrades, and providing technical support for server-related issues.
What you’ll do:
- Assists with administering server infrastructure including physical and virtual servers.
- Maintain backup and recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Assists in performing life cycle management of server hardware and software, including upgrades and patches.
- Ensures compliance with security policies and procedures and participate in security audits and assessments. Provide InfoSec support to ensure servers meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assists with administering Microsoft 365 services and applications, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams.
- Manage and support Active Directory and Entra ID services, including user access management and group policy administration.
- Assists in monitoring server performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources as needed.
- Document server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for reference and training purposes.
What You’ll Bring: You’ll like this position if you have...
- 1-3 years of experience in server administration, including backup and recovery management, security compliance, and software/hardware upgrades.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field of study.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft server technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security principles.
- Familiarity with server monitoring tools and performance optimization techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
