We are seeking a Site Lead/Construction Manager with a strong electrical background to oversee a utility-scale solar construction in Texas. The Construction Manager role is focused on overseeing, documenting, and reporting on the planning, execution, testing, commissioning, and acceptance phases of Solar Utility Projects. Serving as a key field representative, the Construction Manager communicates with the EPC Field Team on various construction-related matters, including progress, safety, and quality.
Start Date: ASAP (Mid/End of September)
Location(s): Sites are spread across Central and West Texas
Must have management experience on large solar constructions (100 MW+)
Owner's Representative experience, preferred
Rotations: Every 3 weeks
Per diem per days worked included
Responsibilities:
- Review and ensure compliance with the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Agreement to meet all contractual requirements.
- Provide management with updates on project site conditions and construction progress through written reports, emails, and performance evaluations.
- Identify and report operational or system issues through regular inspections and field visits.
- Understand and enforce the EPC Contractor’s policies, procedures, and site-specific plans, ensuring adherence to agreed performance standards.
- Assess operational and technical risks throughout the construction phases—mobilization, site civil, structural, electrical, testing, commissioning, and demobilization—and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, both orally and in writing.
- Foster cooperation among the Contractor’s team, site EHS & Quality representatives, consultants, community members, and other relevant project stakeholders.
- Coordinate support for site-based personnel, visitors, consultants, and vendors, including security access, site orientation, and personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
- Offer expertise on project-specific jurisdictional matters and permit requirements.
- Provide leadership and training.
