The Systems Administrator should expect to:
- Actively monitor system & networking performance and respond to technical hardware and software problems. As well as assist in managing overall system capacity
- Analyze and research complex technical problems and take corrective action to minimize the current and future impact on the users of the firm
- Interface with vendors or other external support teams to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance
- Help evaluate new products and technologies to determine the impact and potential benefits to the firm’s systems
- Present information on the ability of the solution(s) and/or vendor(s) to provide the desired/needed benefits and functionality
- Ensure that all new or existing systems function as desired and are up to date with upgrades, bug fixes, and security patches to ensure and maintain a stable information security posture
- Regularly review the documentation on new or updated systems to produce and maintain documentation that will enable technology teammates, and end users to effectively use the firms’ technical systems. It may also be required to cross-train teammates and others who need to understand the systems to be able to use or support them.
What you’ll need for this position:
- Proficiency in enterprise-level systems management and software administration
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related experience
- Experience in the administration and management of enterprise-grade firewalls
- A solid understanding of networking which includes routing protocols and the ability to monitor and troubleshoot network issues
- Experience in managing Windows and mobile devices within an enterprise environment (Intune)
- Strong understanding of Microsoft office 365 including online Exchange, Teams, Entra AD in a hybrid environment
- Ability to serve as a senior technical resource and provide technical guidance and mentoring to IT support staff
- Excellent organization/project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build effective partnerships with project leaders and colleagues
- Sound judgment, advanced level analytical thinking, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Good knowledge of applicable laws and data privacy policies
- Polished communication and presentation skills
- Ability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Willingness and ability to occasionally work evenings or weekends, with limited overnight travel

In addition, we prioritize experience and current skills in supporting the following technologies:
- Experience managing Fortinet products: FortiGate/ FortiSwitch/FortiManager
- Windows Server OS: 2019/2016/2022
- Windows Client OS: Windows 10, 11
- Active Directory, Group Policy, Intune, Autopilot,
- Cloud-based infrastructure and services: Azure, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
- Security and Privacy: Multi-factor Authentication (MFA), CCPA, GDPR, Bitlocker
- Experience with Arctic Wolf & CrowdStrike
- Advanced PowerShell Scripting knowledge and ability to write scripts
- SQL Server Management

Compensation: In some states and municipalities, Pinion is required by law to include a reasonable estimate for range of compensation. When making compensation decisions, Pinion takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications/licenses, and geographic location. The wide range for this role reasonably accounts for these factors. Specific compensation decisions are made based on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000 to $95,000.
