Responsibilities
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Network Administrator in Madison, WI. Summary: The Network Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the organization's network infrastructure. This includes overseeing the day-to-day operations of the network environment, ensuring its reliability, performance, and security. The role requires a proactive approach to network management, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other IT professionals and various departmental teams. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
- Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices
- Monitor network performance and integrity
- Schedule updates and upgrades
- Collaborate with network architects on network optimization
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues
- Knowledge of integrating legacy systems with modern network infrastructure to ensure compatibility and functionality
- Implement and maintain security policies and procedures
- Monitor network security breaches and respond to security incidents
- Ensure data and network protection from internal and external threats
- Regularly monitor network performance to ensure system availability and reliability
- Perform network diagnostics, analyze performance metrics, and report findings to management
- Provide technical support and guidance to users with respect to network infrastructure
- Train team members on new hardware or software affecting the network
- Maintain complete technical documentation of the network and system configuration
- Document incident resolutions and maintain logs of network maintenance activities
- Assist in creating and maintaining documentation for integrating legacy and new systems, including configuration details and troubleshooting guides
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or five years related experience and/or training; Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Hands-on experience with networking, routing, and switching
- Experience with firewalls, Internet VPNs remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of network infrastructure
- Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
- Great at organizing, prioritizing, and multitasking
- Ability to set up and configure server hardware
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
