Duties
As an Information Technology Specialist (Cloud Computing Cyber Security), you will:
- Serve as a senior cyber security specialist responsible for administering cyber security policy.
- Coordinate and assess policy and evaluation of other organization's cyber security implementations, the breadth of these responsibilities spans Naval Reactors Headquarters, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory (three locations), more than 100 Navy commands, and more than 1500 suppliers.
- Perform assessment and authorization of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program IT systems, applications, and networks.
- Perform technical reviews of contractor recommendations that affect the cyber security of IT and managing the procurement of cyber security tools and IT supporting NNPP work.
- Evaluate and ensure the secure configuration of cloud-based technologies including but not limited to DevSecOps pipelines, cloud native security information and event management, service mesh, identity management, cloud native data protection techniques (e.g. Azure Key Vault, Amazon Web Service Key Management Service), serverless computing, containerization technologies (e.g. OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes), GitOps repositories, and cloud-based collaboration environments such as M365.
- Be responsible for ensuring the security related to cloud computing technologies, zero trust architectures, virtualized compute/networking, operating systems, networking, databases, application development, remote/mobile access, boundary defense, and addressing emanations threats.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
- Professional knowledge and experience which demonstrates technical skill in coordinating the development and compliance assessment of cyber security requirements and operating procedures; securely implementing and operating cloud-based technologies, capabilities and protection (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift, Azure Key Vault, AWS Key Management Service).
IT Competencies: GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
