DTS is looking for Information Technology Specialists for on-site and virtual engagement with nationwide clients in the Cyber Security Services domain. These engagements provide an important role for businesses, as it serves as the point of contact for all issues related to IT. In this critical role, the Information Technology Specialist is responsible for effectively managing customer expectations, setting the organizational standard for customer engagement, serving as a communication channel between customers and the IT organization, and, whenever possible, providing a first-contact resolution for customers.
In addition to these essential tasks, the Information Technology Specialist is responsible for identifying and pursuing service improvement initiatives; managing complaints, suggestions, and compliments; and perhaps most importantly, often service as the face, or voice, of the organization to customers. Customer Expectations of the Information Technology Specialist:
Amidst its many responsibilities, the primary role of the Information Technology Specialist is serving as a point of contact for customers and meeting customer expectations. With that in mind, most customers have some standard expectations for their interactions with a service desk. As a baseline, they expect that: their issue will be resolved in a reasonable and agreed-upon timeframe; that they will receive courteous and consistent service; that they will be informed, in language that is not technical jargon, about how their issue will be resolved; and that all members of the service desk will take ownership of their issue. As the first point of contact for customers for any IT issues, the service desk can have a big impact on customer experiences and how businesses are viewed by customers. As a result, it’s important that the service desk is effective, efficient, and always improving. Having a strong service desk and support manager is one of the most effective ways to ensure that the service desk meets and exceeds internal and external expectations.
Ideal candidates will possess the following attributes / skills:
• Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise.
• Knowledge of computer systems development and programming.
• Ability to evaluate and review a range of mainframe, PC, and distributed production and applications computer systems.
• Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
• Ability to communicate with and understand the requirements of professional staff in area of specialty.
• Ability to obtain Microsoft Certifications.
Responsibilities:
• Prepares and presents written and oral reports and other technical information in a pertinent, concise, and accurate manner for distribution to management.
• Consults with and advises administrators, faculty, and staff on various operational issues related to computerized information systems, and on general business operations as needed.
• Follows up on audit findings to ensure that management has taken corrective action(s).
• Assists and trains other client staff in the use of computerized audit techniques, and in developing methods for review and analysis of computerized information systems.
• Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
• Participate in the annual review process for maintaining compliance with government standards.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Information Technology or Business-related field.
- 1+ year of Microsoft 365 experience.

Salary at DTS is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. In addition, to support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, DTS typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
