Job description:
For this role as IT Support Specialist, we are seeking an organized, detail-oriented individual with exceptional interpersonal skills to work at a professional strategic communications firm. We would like to fill the following opening as soon as possible.
The IT Support Specialist will provide primary support for all desktop hardware and applications. Additionally, they will provide network support for internal and external systems and related technologies. Candidates will need good organizational skills, to enjoy working in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment, and to be able to prioritize.
The hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm in a hybrid environment (WFH Mon/Fri, in office Tue/Wed/Thu).
Responsibilities:
- Provide front line support to staff, helping them resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and networks to ensure smooth operation.
- Maintain and administer Active Directory.
- Monitor and troubleshoot all issues related to a Microsoft 365 cloud environment.
- Support video conferencing technologies and protocols.
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of the physical/virtual servers and networking equipment.
- Document processes, changes, and issues to maintain accurate records and facilitate future troubleshooting
- Participate in on-call rotation and after hour’s emergency support model.
- Provide technical support to users either in person or remotely.
Skills Requirements:
- Understanding of computer systems, software applications, and hardware components.
- Basic understanding of networks, including LANs, WANs, and VPNs.
- Familiarity with various operating systems like Windows 10/11, Windows Server.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices to protect systems and data.
- Strong analytical skills to identify the root cause of problems and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
- Basic knowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell for automation and task management.
- Knowledge of virtualization (VMware) and Windows Active Directory.
- Exceptional judgment as well as a strong grasp of discretion and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferably a 4-year college degree in a technological field.
- One or more years of broad technical experience in an office environment.
- Professional certifications are a plus.
