POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Systems Administrator (Level 3) will engage with clients to implement, manage and monitor the various on-prem technology solutions, designed by the company’s architects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides escalation support and troubleshooting guidance to Service Desk staff
- Maintains customer on-prem infrastructure including but not limited to physical server hosts, virtualization systems like vSphere or Hyper-V including physical network devices supporting the systems, storage solutions like SAN or NAS
- Implements, monitors, and routinely analyzes the health statistics of the managed services, including the following technologies:
***Virtualization solutions***
***Physical server hardware***
***SAN or NAS devices***
- Tier 3 support of these technologies
- Support for Cloud technologies supporting customers on-prem infrastructure mainly in Microsoft Azure
- Work with different teams within the company to provide complete and overall support for customer environments
- Migrations of on-prem infrastructure to cloud infrastructure as it fits for customer use cases
QUALIFICATIONS
- Superb customer service ability
- Ability to implement technologies as designed to assist with the creation and maintenance of documented standard operating procedures for managed customer infrastructure by the company’s architects
- Ability to manage multiple different client projects simultaneously
- Ability to adapt to non-standard implementations
- Good understanding of vendors Best Practices
- Ability to create and update various automation scripts
- Ability to follow all standard operating procedures accordingly
- Understanding of core Windows and IP services including, but not limited to; AD, DNS, FTP, SMTP, DHCP, SMB and DFS
- Understanding of core virtualization technologies and services
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Three years of Azure experience (required), specifically setting up VM’s and other Azure services
- Five years of experience as a System Administrator
- Two to three years of experience implementing, managing and monitoring virtualization environments, preferably using VMware vSphere products
- One to two years of experience automating tasks to produce reproducible configuration updates and deployments
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and environments is a plus, preferably Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 services is a plus
- Experience working in both a team environment and completing individual projects
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills, customer service skills and experience working with executive staff
