Role Overview:
Our client is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to lead their clients in the design, deployment, and maintenance of server and network infrastructures. This role involves managing IT projects, configuring and supporting systems, and ensuring seamless operations. The engineer will also consult with clients to address their technology needs and drive their success.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in a similar IT role.
- Proficiency in Windows server configuration and upkeep.
- Expertise in Active Directory and Group Policy setup and management.
- Experience in configuring and supporting Exchange.
- Competence in managed antivirus setup and maintenance.
- Skills in server backup management and support.
- Knowledge of firewall and VPN setup, maintenance, and support.
- Proficiency in SQL Server configuration, maintenance, and support.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware or Hyper-V).
- Experience in consulting with clients on IT strategies and decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a "Technology Success Manager" for clients.
- Manage client services for medium and larger clients.
- Participate in quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
- Design and implement network solutions, including LAN and WAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security systems.
- Develop and deploy hosted and cloud solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Design and implement disaster recovery strategies.
- Support and manage virtualization technologies.
- Oversee the administration and maintenance of the remote monitoring system.
- Respond to and resolve escalated client support requests.
- Address escalated server, network, and desktop-related issues.
- Act as a resource for projects handled by the Implementation and Onboarding team.
- Develop, maintain, and review system documentation.
- Maintain communication with clients, keeping them updated on incident progress, upcoming changes, and planned outages.
- Address tickets generated by alerts from the monitoring system.
- Review performance data and configurations from the monitoring system.
- Perform regular server checkups using data from the monitoring system, alongside manual server reviews as needed.
- Participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours support.
- Log all work as service tickets in the system.
