Hourly: $65-$80/hr
Conversion Salary: $130,000-$145,000

Infrastructure Manager:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure Manager to oversee the operations, activities, staff, and budget of the client's technology infrastructure team. This key role includes managing telecommunications, networks, systems administration, and more within the Information Technology department. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise along with proven leadership capabilities to drive strategic goals and ensure exceptional infrastructure support across the company.
This role is a hybrid model in Portland, Oregon.
Infrastructure Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the telecommunications systems (voice, data, video conferencing), network (LAN, WAN, wireless), server and storage systems, data centers, and colocation facilities. Supervise the systems administration functions and staff of the infrastructure team within the Information Technology department.
- Oversee projects from inception to completion, coordinating resources and timelines. Evaluate and approve activities and projects to ensure specifications are met. Assure the availability of appropriate equipment, materials, personnel, and other resources to meet client's technology needs. Audit and assess solutions and outcomes, and prepare a variety of narrative and statistical reports related to assigned activities.
- Ensure projects are performed and completed within assigned budgets. Authorize and control expenditures in accordance with established policies and procedures. Provide forecasting recommendations and input into the budget planning process.
- Participate in and oversee bids and proposals for service and equipment as designated, adhering to company policies and public purchasing laws. Recommend technology purchases and upgrades to enhance business support and learning opportunities. Manage vendor and service provider relationships and monitor their performance against service level agreements (SLAs).
- Collaborate with organizational units that share services to enhance the integration of infrastructure support. Provide technical expertise and champion best practices in developing and deploying state-of-the-art technologies to maximize efficiencies.
- Coordinate regular maintenance and upgrades to keep infrastructure up-to-date and secure. Ensure the availability, reliability, and security of all technical infrastructure components, following industry best practices for infrastructure management.
- Participate in the development and implementation of company-wide strategic plans related to technology, infrastructure, and information services. Set strategic direction and objectives for the assigned division.
- Proactively monitor system performance and capacity to address issues before they impact end-users.

- Maintain and develop professional skills for self and staff through ongoing training, seminars, and workshops. Lead and participate in meetings, conferences, and training sessions.
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel. Communicate job expectations; train, coach, and counsel employees. Handle interviewing, selection, and recommendations for transfers, reassignments, termination, and disciplinary actions.
- Lead staff in identifying opportunities for process improvements to achieve desired goals and objectives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Infrastructure Manager Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years at a supervisory level in an IT department, with at least two years managing technical staff or one year as an IT Supervisor. Experience in a public agency preferred.
- Any other combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities may be considered.
