Selby Jennings has partnered with a world-leading multi-asset Alternative Investment firm on a search for a Principal Cloud Engineer to join their Global Infrastructure team. This is a hybrid, full-time opportunity in Boston.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field
- 5 YOE in cloud/software engineering in AWS or Azure environments
- Proven experience managing Control Tower, Organizations, IAM, EC2, Lambda, SNS, S3, SSM, SQS, CloudWatch, and KMS in a multi-account environment
- Proven experience supporting Windows and Linux environments
- Proficiency in scripting with Bash, PowerShell, Python
- Orchestration and configuration management experience tools with CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent
- Experience with Infrastructure code generation and templating, Terragrunt preferred
- Experience creating and implementing Policy as Code, Sentinel preferred
- Experience creating build pipelines and workflows with GitHub Actions or Azure Devops
- Experience with observability tooling such as Datadog, ELK, Grafana, or Prometheus
- Experience with containerization using Docker and container orchestration using Kubernetes
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
- Managing, supporting, and evolving the overall AWS architecture
- Supporting the migration of applications into the cloud infrastructure
- Contributing to corporate adoption of the DevOps methodology and Agile project management
- Providing expert level design and engineering support towards the successful delivery of IT’s cloud project portfolio
- Developing and implementing internal systems, processes, and best practices to be used by other teams, designed to increase productivity
- Participating in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment, security, cost effectiveness and high availability in the cloud
- Designing, implementing, and testing disaster recovery and business continuity architecture
- Creating and implementing automation in the form of IaC
- Ensuring all infrastructure components meet proper performance and capacity standards
