Summary
The Resilience Specialist works under the direction of the Program Director of Resilience Program to implement strategies to support staff on the impacts of cumulative stress. This person assists the Program Director to help improve team member resilience factors by providing resilience education, sessions, and workshops. Together with the Program Director, and other stakeholders, the Resilience Specialist provides team member resilience support across Children's Health System of Texas (CHST).
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and sustainability of comprehensive interventions to support resilience factor awareness and development in clinical and non-clinical team members.
- Assist Program Director of Resilience in the maintenance of the Resilience Program, including the Resilience Committee.
- Contribute to the development and updating of Resilience resources.
- Participate in the development and operationalization of Resilience education geared for individuals, team cultures, and leadership.
- Promote opportunities for interaction with the multidisciplinary team by attending rounds and other team meetings as appropriate.
- Collect data, including the use of trends, issues, and outcome data, for the Resilience program and implement performance improvement activities that foster both intradepartmental and interdepartmental collaboration.
- Maintain professional mastery through continuing education and encourage professional development for staff members.
- Assist in developing additional evidence-based practices and resources to mitigate the effects of cumulative stress, and collaborating in research activities as pertinent.
- Work effectively with diverse groups across multiple departmental lines and multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrate strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and an understanding of clinical processes.
- Support service excellence initiatives throughout the hospital as they relate to staff support and engagement.
- Cross train with Second Victim and Integrated Ethics program leaders to develop competencies related to the provision of holistic staff support.
Work Experience
How You’ll Be Successful:
- At least 5 years Credentialed experience working in a pediatric healthcare environment that includes patient contact. Required
- At least 1 year Experience with providing stress-reduction activities to team members Required
- At least 1 year Program development experience that may include leadership of program, and/or leadership role that closely works with program leads Preferred
- Experience in providing resilience constructs, which may include mindfulness, organizational psychology, cumulative stress mitigation strategies, etc. Preferred
EDUCATION
- Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience BSN required for RN Required
- Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Preferred
- Coursework that explores resilience constructs, which may include mindfulness, organizational psychology, cumulative stress mitigation strategies, etc. Preferred
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Current license to practice nursing in the State of Texas or State of Texas licensure in LPC, LMFT, LCSW or equivalent Upon Hire Required
