Engineering Analyst – Full or Part Time, Contract
Pay range depends on experience and work location.
About the Role
You will work on a variety of projects for our customers all over the world. Our recent customers are in Papua New Guinea, Australia, Guam, Honduras, United States and Canada. Technical project work varies greatly, so we are interested in meeting candidates with wide-ranging analysis capabilities. Beneficial analysis experience may include work in civil or industrial engineering, logistics, maritime or intermodal cargo operations, or industrial site development. An analytical mindset is needed to discover solutions from the data and present it in interesting and revealing ways.
Required Qualifications
- Skills in one or more types of analysis including civil site planning, process improvement, industrial engineering, architectural planning, and automation technology.
- Ability to build and use spreadsheet models, considering finance, statistics, charting, pivot tables, and security.
- Ability to write concise professional reports on technical subjects in perfect English.
- Experience completing technically complex, varied, and successful projects.
- Engineering or similar technical degree from an accredited college or university.
- Fluent English oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for work (as needed).
- Have the right to work and remain in the USA without visa sponsorship.
Desirable Qualifications
- Professional engineering license.
- Operations or planning experience in cargo handling yards (maritime, intermodal, depot)

Responsibilities
- Prepare technical documents based on spreadsheet and graphic analysis.
- Prepare visual materials for customer presentations.
- Document industrial business processes in data flow diagrams.
- Support CAD drafting of technical drawings including terminal operating plans.
- Identify and implement innovative ideas that add value and improve work processes.
- Create use cases and standard operating procedures based on business requirements.
- Conduct industry research and report back with filtered, high-quality results.
- Study almost any topic, as needed, with an analytical mindset that filters the sales materials and identifies the real competencies of a supplier, person, piece of equipment, etc.
- Conduct preliminary calls with people and companies to study an issue.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant industry information through self-education and company training.
