Position: IT Manager (Temp-to-Hire) – Government Agency
Location: North Houston (77032)
Compensation: $50 - $60/hr
About the Company:
Our client, a respected government agency with over 30 years of service to the Houston area, is seeking a full-time, temp-to-hire IT Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to lead the IT function within a well-established organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement both short- and long-term IT strategies and operational plans.
- Enhance and maintain security measures for computer systems, telecommunications, data integrity, and network security.
- Oversee the performance of IT services, reviewing and recommending improvements or new solutions to maintain high standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to staff and contractors on daily IT operations.
- Lead special IT projects, ensuring alignment with departmental goals.
- Manage hardware and software acquisitions, including preparing bid proposals, evaluating contracts, and ensuring maintenance and support.
- Handle IT department administration, including preparing invoices, purchase orders, and maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to maintain and integrate network equipment.
Primary Goal:
Support and manage the organization's information systems, telecommunications, and technology efforts. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, policies, and regulations at both state and federal levels.
Requirements:
- Experience with Windows Active Directory
- Proficiency in Barracuda Networking and Exchange Server 2019
- Expertise in setting up registered domains and websites
- Experience with Veeam Backup solutions
- Knowledge of License Plate Recognition (LPR) systems
- Familiarity with Penlink and Geotime servers
- Experience managing TCIC networks to comply with CJIS standards
- Expertise in setting up VPN networks between agencies
