Job Description:
We’re seeking an ambitious entry-level Technical Support Specialist with a passion for IT support, an interest in information security, and the potential to contribute to the scaling of our infrastructure and workflows. In this role, you’ll provide essential technical support to our employees while also helping improve and secure our systems as we grow. You’ll work closely with our IT Director, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of technical areas, including infrastructure management, security protocols, and workflow optimization.
This role is ideal for someone who is not only excited about troubleshooting day-to-day IT issues but also passionate about developing deeper technical expertise in areas like security, cloud services, and network management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Troubleshooting: Provide day-to-day support by diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues for employees, including computers, printers, and other peripherals.
- User Account Management: Assist in setting up new user accounts, managing access, and handling password resets.
- Microsoft Cloud Support: Help with Microsoft 365 administration, including user management, security settings, and troubleshooting.
- Infrastructure & Workflow Scaling: Contribute ideas and assist with the implementation of scalable IT infrastructure solutions as the company grows.
- Information Security: Assist with monitoring security alerts, managing access controls, and ensuring compliance with security protocols. Contribute to security initiatives that protect company data and systems.
- Employee Onboarding & Offboarding: Set up workstations, install software, and configure IT resources for new hires. Assist with deactivating accounts and recovering equipment during offboarding.
- Network Support: Help monitor and maintain the office network, including Wi-Fi and LAN, ensuring reliable connectivity for all employees.
- Asset & Inventory Management: Track and manage IT hardware and software inventory, ensuring proper documentation.
- End-User Support & Training: Provide basic training to employees on new software and systems, and create user-friendly guides and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Passion for IT support with a strong interest in information security and infrastructure management.
- Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is a plus, but not required.
- Relevant IT certifications (such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications) or equivalent practical experience are highly valued.
- Basic understanding of hardware, software, networking, and security concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Azure is a plus, but not required.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think critically about infrastructure and security improvements.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- A desire to grow with the company and take on more complex IT and security responsibilities as the business scales.
Position Details:
- Full-Time, Salaried: Annual salary range of $50,000–$70,000, depending on experience.
- Location: On-site at our San Diego office located in the Kearny Mesa area.
