My Client, who are venture-backed, Series A start-up, focused on providing innovative security solutions for software supply chains, are looking to appoint a solid Sales Engineer in New York.
As a Sales Engineer, you will serve as the technical backbone of the sales team, helping prospects and customers understand how their software supply chain security solutions can solve their specific challenges. You will work closely with the sales, product, and engineering teams to provide technical expertise, deliver product demonstrations, and ensure a smooth sales process from initial interest to post-sale support.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Sales Support:
- Partner with the sales team to understand customer requirements and pain points, and propose tailored solutions using our software supply chain security platform.
- Conduct in-depth technical product demonstrations and presentations, showing prospects how our platform addresses their specific security needs.
- Collaborate with customers to design customised solutions that integrate seamlessly into their existing infrastructure and development environments.
Solution Design & Architecture:
- Provide technical leadership in the sales process, helping customers design and implement secure solutions for their software supply chains.
- Work closely with customer engineering teams to architect proof-of-concept (PoC) implementations, ensuring successful technical validation of our platform.
- Translate customer requirements into detailed solution designs that align with best practices in software security and supply chain management.
Technical Resource:
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to prospects and customers, offering insights on how to best leverage our platform within their DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and software supply chain ecosystems.
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams—including product, engineering, and customer success—to address technical challenges and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Create and maintain technical collateral, such as solution briefs, whitepapers, and technical presentations, to support the sales process.
Post-Sales Engagement:
- Assist with post-sales onboarding and ensure a seamless handoff to the customer success and technical support teams.
- Provide ongoing technical support during the early phases of customer deployment to ensure they are fully utilizing the platform and achieving desired outcomes.
Feedback & Product Development:
- Act as the voice of the customer by capturing feedback on product performance, user experience, and market demands.
- Work with product and engineering teams to prioritize feature requests, identify potential product enhancements, and ensure our platform continues to meet customer needs.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments in software supply chain security, ensuring you can provide relevant and current advice to prospects and customers.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or similar technical role, ideally in cybersecurity, DevSecOps, or related fields. Experience with software supply chain security or CI/CD pipelines is highly preferred.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of software development, DevOps practices, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI), and software supply chain security concepts.
- Sales Acumen: Ability to understand customer pain points and articulate how technical solutions can address those challenges.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work cross-functionally with sales, product, and engineering teams to deliver customer-centric solutions.
- Problem-Solving Skills: A proactive approach to identifying and solving technical issues, with a focus on customer success.
- Tools & Platforms: Familiarity with DevOps tools, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO).
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced start-up environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
