Responsibilities
- Oversees team obtaining authorization from payer’s case manager for services ordered/requested for prospects/ referrals in a timely manner
- Monitors documentation of specific details related to the authorization including effective and end dates using the appropriate legacy system and associated software application via patient notes, authorizations, tasks, workflow, phone calls and/or email.
- Ensures additional pre-certification is obtained as needed and effective lines of communication are maintained between the agency and the payer.
- Performs quality reviews to ensure needed documentation is detailed in the legacy system as found in notes, tasks, workflow, email and or phone calls.
- Coordinates and communicates with the branch location regarding any changes or updates from the payer in a timely manner.
- Ensures the team members are accessing authorizations via email, telephone, fax, and/or on-line application in the most efficient and timely manner.
- Resolves all customer requests, inquiries, and concerns in an expedient and respectful manner.
- Problem solves independently before referring issues to the Supervisor/Manager for resolution.
- Performs eligibility and or similar, comparable, or related duties as may be required or assigned.
Education And Experience
License, Registration, and / or Certification Requirement: No
Education Requirements
- Associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing
Experience Requirements
- Three to five years of healthcare supervisory experience or equivalent home health case management
Experience Desired
- Revenue cycle experience.
Skill Requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication

- Positive customer relations skills and the ability to work effectively as a member of interactive teams
