Description
Are you an experienced IT leader passionate about driving innovation and enhancing technology services? We are seeking a dynamic Chief Information Officer (CIO) to join our team and lead our Information Technology department. In this role, you will oversee operations, guide strategic planning, and ensure the effective use of technology throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership (50%)
- Manage day-to-day IT operations and provide leadership in technology services.
- Collaborate with the executive team to define IT objectives and process improvements.
- Guide IT governance and integrate IT programs to maximize efficiencies.
- Represent the IT department on advisory councils, maintaining professional relationships with universities and vendors.
- Work with campus units to support innovative teaching and enhance student learning outcomes.
Strategic Planning (25%)
- Develop and implement strategic IT plans and policies.
- Participate in the Strategic Planning Committee to set IT priorities and future directions.
Administration (10%)
- Stay current with technology trends and ensure the security of institutional data.
- Guide the design and maintenance of IT organizational structures and staffing.
Budgeting (10%)
- Oversee IT budgeting processes and conduct cost analysis.
- Support the development of university-wide budgeting strategies for IT resources.
Other (5%)
- Support the Vice President of Finance & Administration with additional duties as needed.
- Be available for on-call emergencies during nights and weekends.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years in IT, including 3-5 years in a management role; experience with project management is essential.
- Preferred Experience: Knowledge of enterprise-level ERP systems (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft, Workday) and experience in higher education or within a similar university system.

- Expertise in IT best practices, customer service, and organizational change methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and effective prioritization.
- Experience in budget and project management, vendor relations, and contract negotiation.
- Collaborative approach with a capacity to work with both technical and non-technical individuals.
