Job Description & Responsibilities
A professional services organization is seeking a motivated and experienced IT Manager with strong leadership and technical expertise. This role involves managing daily end-user support, overseeing vendor relationships, and ensuring the smooth operation of the data center infrastructure. The position requires excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Oversee Helpdesk operations, ensuring SLA adherence, ticket resolution, and high-quality customer service.
- Manage and mentor a team of technical professionals, providing guidance on project management best practices.
- Develop and implement change management processes and IT continuous improvement programs.
- Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, performance review, and compliance.
- Ensure infrastructure-related risks are mitigated, monitored, and managed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT projects with business objectives and priorities.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets using Agile and other project management methodologies.
- Conduct regular status meetings and provide project updates to stakeholders.
- Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Manage IT resource requirements to balance tactical and strategic demands.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Microsoft 365, Cloud knowledge (Azure or AWS), Virtualization (VMWare or Hyper-V), Active Directory, Entra ID / Azure AD, Strong System Administration skills.
- 5+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure management, preferably in a medium-scale enterprise.
- Proven experience managing IT infrastructure, Helpdesk operations, vendor relationships, and data center infrastructure.
- Strong project management skills, including simultaneous project delivery within budget and on time.
- Expertise in Agile and other project management methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Experience managing and mentoring technical staff.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
- AWS/Azure certification preferred.
