The Role
As an IT Systems Infrastructure Engineer, your primary responsibilities will be to:
- Plan and design system infrastructure, which may include implementation and design of hardware and software.
- Analyze, develop, modify, and maintain systems at multiple locations.
- Design and implement backup and disaster recovery plans, perform regular system patching and updating, and effectively utilize SNMP, syslog, and other network monitoring protocols.
- Diagnose problems and provides recommendations for improvement on existing and new systems.
- Utilize Linux and/or Ubuntu for functions including, but not limited to, manage and troubleshoot servers, perform package management, and create custom packages.
- Configure, and manage failover configurations for DHCP and DNS including DNS services such as BIND, PowerDNS, and their HA setups.
- Configure IP address management solutions.
- Utilize Bash and Python scripting expertise for advanced automation and task scheduling; writing and maintaining automation frameworks; unit testing and debugging scripts.

Competencies
- Must have extensive expertise in Linux and/or Ubuntu.
- Must have expertise in Bash and Python scripting.
- Must have experience in server maintenance.
- Must be able to backup infrastructure as well as monitor networks and servers.
- Maintain high-availability configurations for DHCP/DNS servers on Linux.
- Ability to communicate through electronic means and instruct staff on corrections and network solutions.
- Ability to analyze data and develop appropriate action plans to accomplish a goal.
- Ability to understand and implement networking and security concepts.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional and constructive interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate with others.
- Must work well with teams and be dependable.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Demonstrate the ability to retain information quickly, communicate effectively with fellow employees/supervisors.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Five years of related experience.
- A combination of certifications and relevant experience may also be considered on a case- by-case basis.
- Can handle various tasks, from L1 helpdesk to L3 support, along with JIRA and app support.
Preferred

Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Work generally occurs inside a typical office environment. Some work may occur outside in varying weather conditions and in potentially extreme temperatures.
- Must be able to perform the physical and mental functions necessary to complete essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
