Summary: This is a people manager position that oversees the information technology operations department and other technical operations within Universal. These duties include identifying the organization’s information technology and information security needs, evaluating, and implementing updates and enhancements to current processes, and ensuring employees’ technical issues are resolved efficiently. This position is also responsible for information security program development and maintenance, performing and supporting audits, system and security monitoring, information security compliance, coordinating investigation and reporting of security incidents. This position also coordinates with internal teams and vendors to meet company objectives in the department. Responsibilities
Manage, develop, and provide leadership consistent with corporate values.
Monitor and advise on IT issues related to systems and workflow to ensure internal controls are appropriate and operating as intended.
Coordinate responses to security incidents or problems.
Conduct data classification assessments and security audits and manage remediation plan
Perform other duties as assigned
Coordinate and execute projects such as implementing, configuring, and managing infrastructure and security monitoring tools.
Create, manage, and maintain the user security program.
Manage vendor relationships.
Ensure adequate and effective IT controls exist to meet current and future security compliance requirements found in laws and regulations such as SSAE 16 SOC I & II, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and state and federal privacy laws
Lead and coordinate with the First Team for all internal client-facing interaction.
Collaborate with the legal department and operational leadership to manage risk.
Develop and publish policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines based on best practices and compliance requirements.
Conduct security research to stay abreast of the latest security issues.
Position Requirements
Requirements
- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- BA or BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field
- Experience
- 5+ years of progressive experience in computing and information security, including experience with Internet technology and security issues CISSP, CISM, or other security certifications desired
- 2+ years in cloud infrastructure services architecture or maintenance
- Skills
- Knowledge of policy development, process and system auditing, risk analysis and management
- Ability to perform compliance auditing and system management
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Rapid comprehension and strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to communicate, interact and consult with people at all levels
- Knowledge of information security standards (e.g., ISO 27002, SSAE 16, and SOC I & II)
- Knowledge of rules and regulations related to information security and data confidentiality (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
- Work Schedule and Travel Requirements: This role may require weekend and/or evening assignments, limited periodic travel to other corporate or branch locations, and availability during off-hours to participate in scheduled and unscheduled activities.
