The Role
The Leave of Absence (LOA) Specialist will administer all employee leave of absence requests across our multi-state employee base in the US, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and encouraging best practices to provide end-to-end leave administration.
You will join our HR Shared Services Team, report to the HR Shared Services Manager, and work alongside the Benefits, HR & People teams, Finance, and Payroll to build and support our leave programs.
We are open to remote, onsite, or hybrid working arrangements - you choose to work where you are most effective.
A typical day will involve
- Administration of Time Off and LOA requests and programs in a matrix/multi-state environment which includes administration of Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, FMLA, Paid Family and Medical Leave, Military, Parental Leave, Paid Sick Leave, Bereavement etc.
- Ensuring the compliance of Time Off and LOA requests and programs with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
- Monitoring and implementing all legal and regulatory changes; analysing, reviewing, updating and/or developing company leave policies and related forms, documents, or communications where required.
- Collaborating with our third-party LOA vendor to determine the appropriate course of action and application of our leave policies.
- Handling long-term and complex leaves.
- Working with the payroll team to determine employee pay while on leave taking into consideration state and STD payments.
- Educating our our teams on leave policies, procedures, and federal and state requirements, and helping our employees understand the benefits offered and their eligibility requirements.
- Ensuring accurate leave information is updated in our HR system.
- Providing exceptional customer service, both internally and externally.
What Skills And Experience You Bring To The Role
- 3+ years of relevant Leave Administration experience.
- Knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the federal and state regulations affecting employee benefits programs such as ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Workers' Comp, Medicare, etc.
- The ability to collaborate, and develop partnerships with vendors, managers, and employees.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and sound judgment, and to protect· employee medical information per HIPAA regulations.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (V-Look Up, Pivot Tables)..

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. This range may differ based on your experience and skill set, geographic location, and cost of living considerations.
