Job Description
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Formulates, directs, and participates in the development and implementation of departmental goals and objectives.
- Monitors incident reports activity regarding employees, customers, regulatory (Iowa Gaming Commission), and company policies while ensuring accurate and effective handling.
- Develops, implements and maintains required internal and external reporting procedures.
- Monitors exclusion list and ensures effective enforcement where appropriate.
- Partners and cooperates with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies of mutual concern.
- Responsible for ensuring optimal operations and consistent high-quality standards in areas of responsibility during all business hours.
- Partners with consultants, regulators, governmental agencies, and operations to provide technical advice, to resolve problems, and ensure compliance.
- Management accountability for team members for day to day and long-term operations to include hiring, training and developing employees which includes coaching, mentoring and appropriate performance management up to and including separation.
- Responsible for scheduling (planning, assigning and directing work) to meet business demands.
- Researches better methods and reduced cost for most favorable impact on responsibilities and budgets.
- Responsible for capital expenditure requests and operating budgets.
- Implements training programs, establishes methods, procedures and safety guidelines required to maintain desired standards, and high-quality service, then monitors results through inspection. Makes changes if necessary, to maintain end result.
- Responsible for the overall integrity of daily operations, ensures compliance with all regulatory, internal control, and policies and procedures.
- Acts as a role model and always presents oneself as a credit to the Company and encourages others to do the same.
- Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- Five years of progressively more challenging experience in a Security or Gaming/Hospitality leadership position.
Qualifications
- Good oral and written communication skills including tact when dealing with difficult customers, must be fluent and literate in English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational ability.
- Must be proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point, Access and Microsoft Outlook.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
- Proven managerial and critical thinking skills required.
- Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in stressful situations with co-workers, guests and vendors.
- Effective analytical skills as demonstrated in timely and appropriate issue resolution.
- Ability to understand and analyze Budget & P&L Statements.
- Must be physically able to restrain combative customers and to move about property.
- Ability to stand and walk, and mobility to move easily around entire property for entire shift and periodically be able to run on level surfaces, as well as up and down stairs. Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 75 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
- Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues.
- Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.
Work Environment
- Diverse, fast-paced, deadline driven, multi-project coordination, prioritizing and flexing to accommodate last minute requests and changes.
- Must be able to work in areas containing dust, secondhand smoke, varying noise and temperature levels, lighting, vibration, crowds and air quality.
- Must be flexible with schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Will be subject to call 24 hours in case of emergency or facility need.
