Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as a System Administrator I, where you will play a crucial role in shaping the Epic systems security framework. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely while engaging with a diverse group of professionals dedicated to enhancing system efficiency and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for users, owners, and administrators regarding application capabilities and features.
- Stay current with new Epic security functionalities across relevant applications.
- Coordinate security-related initiatives among physical, infrastructure, and application teams.
- Partner with application coordinators and analysts to make informed decisions regarding access and design system-level permissions.
- Define ownership and change delegation protocols.
- Ensure that system access is restricted to authorized personnel and that secure remote access is maintained.
- Manage regular password updates and create user passwords at the operating system level when necessary.
- Develop appropriate security classifications and menus within the Epic software framework.
- Create and maintain onboarding procedures for new users, including login authorization and training on system security practices.
- Establish protocols for deactivating access for users who no longer need it.
- Design and execute test scenarios to guarantee that client requirements are satisfied in the system design.
- Participate in technical reviews to uphold project objectives.
- Provide support and escalation for production issues, including conducting root cause analysis and implementing application resolutions.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in basic SQL commands is essential.
- Familiarity with Unix systems is advantageous.
- Experience with various ticketing systems is beneficial.
- Openness to learning proprietary software that integrates with Epic.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
