The System Administrator will be responsible for assisting in managing, maintaining, and optimizing the Bank's IT infrastructure, ensuring the stability, integrity, and security of our systems and data. This role is crucial in supporting the day-to-day operations of our banking systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing new technologies to enhance our operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
System Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, workstations, and network equipment. Ensure the smooth operation of the bank's IT systems, including core banking applications, databases, and communication tools.
Security Information Event Management: Assist in the managing and optimizing of our SIEM solution, ensuring system reliability, security, and performance while also helping to handle incident response and analysis related to security events.
Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Continuously monitor system performance, conduct regular health checks, and optimize systems to ensure high availability and performance. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly.
Backup and Recovery: Manage and test backup solutions to ensure data integrity and availability. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime in case of system failures.
User Support: Provide technical support and training to bank staff. Address user issues, configure user accounts, and manage permissions to ensure secure access to systems.
Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures. Prepare and update user manuals and system documentation as needed.
Compliance: Ensure that all systems and practices comply with banking regulations and industry standards. Prepare for and assist with audits and security assessments.
Project Involvement: Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations. Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to execute project plans.
Specifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or similar) are a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in managing Windows Server and Linux-based systems, understanding of network protocols and hardware, experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., Nutanix, VMware, Hyper-V), and familiarity with database management.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach to system management and user support.
Additional Requirements: Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, a commitment to staying current with technological advancements, and a readiness to work flexible hours or be on-call as needed.
