About this opportunity:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-oriented Infrastructure Engineer to join our expanding Silicon Infrastructure team within Ericsson Silicon.
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable RedHat Linux and software infrastructure solutions for Ericsson Silicon, including RedHat Linux servers, NetApp storage, Citrix/Exceed remote access, and IBM LSF compute clusters.
You will also be involved in automating infrastructure environments, performing regular maintenance, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and providing front-line technical support to Ericsson Silicon staff.
This role ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the Ericsson Silicon development environment.

What you will do:
Design and Implementation:
- Design and maintain scalable RedHat Linux and software infrastructure solutions.
- Automate infrastructure environment using scripting and configuration management tools
- Ensure that infrastructure solutions meet business requirements and align with strategic goals.
Operations and Support:
- Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, and patches for Linux infrastructure and HPC systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Monitor system performance and implement solutions to optimize performance of RedHat Linux servers and IBM LSF compute cluster using Linux tools, Grafana, and ELK/OpenSearch software.
- Perform routine operational tasks (adding/removing hosts, queues, and resources) in IBM LSF clusters.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal stakeholders, team members and hardware engineering end-users.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect data and systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and policies.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures using Confluence for knowledge sharing.
- Generate reports on system performance, security incidents, and other metrics as required.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with hardware engineers, development, operations, and support staff, to ensure cohesive infrastructure solutions.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide updates on projects and issues.
- Participate in cross-functional Agile project teams to deliver Silicon Infrastructure initiatives.
The skills you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) required with 2-3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Proficiency in managing and configuring RedHat Linux servers.
- Proficiency in networking (TCP/IP fundamentals and routing).
- Experience with scripting languages, with demonstrable skill in Python and Bash.
- Experience in operations of remote access solutions such as Citrix and Exceed.
- Familiarity with alerting and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or similar.
- Familiarity with code repository tools such as Git and Gerrit.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as JIRA.
- Familiarity with IT security practices, tools, and protocols
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Ability to analyze system performance and implement optimizations.
You may also have:
- Proficiency with continuous integration (Jenkins, Cloudbees, etc.)
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, configuration management).
- Experience with IT/Infrastructure Automation (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform).
- Experience with batch management / HPC cluster software (LSF, Gridengine, Slurm).
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies (VMware etc.).
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with database management and administration (Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB).
- Familiarity in ELK stack, OpenSearch, or similar.
