The Director of Information Technology is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions in the organization. This includes directing all IT operations to meet organizational goals as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage all technology operations and assess performance against company goals.
- Develop and implement IT policies and systems in line with strategies set by senior leadership.
- Evaluate department technology needs and recommend solutions.
- Procure cost-effective, efficient hardware and software.
- Monitor the use of technology to ensure efficiency and functionality.
- Identify necessary upgrades or new systems and report recommendations to upper management.
- Oversee hardware/software evaluations and manage vendor contracts.
- Maintain consistency and standards for implementing technical solutions across the organization.
- Supervise and prioritize tasks for IT staff.
- Serve as a liaison between users, operations, and developers for system design, modifications, or troubleshooting.
- Manage hiring, salary administration, and performance evaluation for IT personnel.
- Maintain individual network devices, such as computer drivers and printer settings.
- Ensure network integrity, server security, and deployment.
- Configure and manage authentication and directory services.
- Administer and maintain IT assets, including servers, desktops, laptops, printers, routers, firewalls, and mobile devices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (MSc/MA preferred).
- Minimum 8 years of IT experience.
- Strong background in analyzing, implementing, and assessing IT systems.
- Expertise in computer systems, networks, and software.
- Experience in managing IT budgets.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Responsible for department management, including hiring and performance management.
