Title: Sr. System Engineer
Location: HYBRID schedule Dalton, GA + on-call rotation 2 weeks out of every 12
Duration: 3-month contract (great potential for extensions and conversion to permanent!)
Hourly Pay Rate: $60 - 75/Hr
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of supporting an enterprise level corporation utilizing big IP, certificate management, Azure cloud, and VM ware
More on essential duties:
- Big IP: perform full configurations for Big-IP, covering application delivery, security, and network functions
- Certificate management: assist in upgrading and implementing automation tools to enhance certificate management
- Distributed Systems: compute administration or engineering with a Unix/Linux, Windows, or VMWare background
- Azure cloud: extensive experience with Azure cloud services, including AKS, App Services and Databricks
Day-to-Day:
The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for infrastructure maintenance, project support, resiliency support, configuration/provisioning, and incident management. They’ll support CX & AX environments, perform various upgrades, and improve overall performance. They’ll participate in projects and provide architectural improvement recommendations. They’ll ensure operational readiness, troubleshoot, manage, and automate tasks. Additionally, they’ll manage infrastructure components across systems and cloud solutions using scripting language. The role involves a mix of cloud solutions such as Azure, AWS, and GCP; Operating systems including Linux, Windows, and Unix; and Scripting Languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
Additional Daily Responsibilities could include:
- IT Team Collaboration: Work with IT application teams on changes, requests, and incidents. Identify and describe issues, patterns, and opportunities.
- Task Management: Prioritize activities, manage time, and honor commitments. Gather business and system requirements from various sources.
- Automation and Documentation: Create scripts to automate tasks (PowerShell, Python, TSQL). Write and publish concise documents and presentations.
- Problem Solving: Transform observations into patterns, conclusions, and recommendations. Generate and evaluate alternative solutions.
- Meetings and Relationships: Conduct various meetings (one-on-one, group presentations, project reviews). Build effective business and IS relationships.
- Expectation Management: Regularly manage expectations through documented agreements and revisions. Assemble the right mix of people to achieve objectives.
