Cisco's Executive (VP+) Talent Acquisition team is responsible for developing global strategies to hire exceptionally talented senior leaders. This includes providing Hiring Managers and candidates with high-touch and compelling experiences during the recruitment and hiring process, while working collaboratively and cross-functionally with key leaders across the company to develop creative and innovative solutions that support and sustain Cisco's growth.
What You’ll Do
As a direct report to the Global Director of Executive Talent Acquisition, this leader plays an essential role in fueling Cisco's growth with extraordinary talent and is expected to be a seasoned, innovative sourcing professional with the capability of both filling existing needs for talent as well as acting as a talent consultant to shape our future leadership capabilities. The Senior Manager, Global Executive Sourcing and Coordination will be responsible for leading a global team of Executive Sourcers and Executive Coordinators.
As a player/coach, this leader will focus on developing and implementing innovative sourcing strategies, overseeing the sourcing process, managing relationships with stakeholders, and building critical executive talent intelligence, research, and market insights in anticipation of future business needs and growth areas of the business. This role demands a strategic thinker with superior leadership abilities and a proven track record in executive sourcing (both strategy development and execution).
In this role, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Sourcers and Coordinators, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.
- Prioritize work and load balancing, create team-specific performance expectations, and create consistencies across the team.
- Build, develop and execute innovative sourcing strategies, candidate engagement strategies, sourcing architecture, and proactive pipeline development to attract top-tier executive talent in the tech industry.
- Utilize various sourcing channels, including social media, professional networking, referrals, and other creative sources to identify potential candidates and maximize proactive pipeline development of diverse talent.
- Evolve and improve sourcing processes and technology utilizing next-gen CRM and ATS.
- Work directly with Cisco's senior leaders and People & Communities Business Partners on Cisco's most senior leadership requisitions and talent sourcing projects.
- Ensure Hiring Managers and Executive Recruiters have a strong talent pipeline for every search and safeguard that update/status meeting are conducted efficiently and professionally.
- Stay informed about tech industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify potential sourcing opportunities and to provide recommendations on hiring strategies.
- Develop strategies and execution plans to build proactive talent pools and to promote opportunistic hires, dependent upon business strategies.
- Provide regular reports and analytics on sourcing activities, strategies, and outcomes.
- Partner with Cisco's Preferred Executive Search Partner(s) and Executive Recruiter(s) throughout the recruiting process when an Executive Search Firm is brought on board.
- To be successful, this position necessitates an uncommon balance of creativity and drive, along with interpersonal savvy and analytics. A proven ability to contribute in a high-paced, dynamic work environment as well as the ability to prioritize multiple functions and tasks and manage efficiently will be critical consistently and positively.
Minimum Requirements
- 8-10 years of sourcing/recruiting experience.
- Minimum of 3 years VP+ search experience (inclusive of global search execution/responsibility).
- Experience building and managing Sourcing and Coordination teams.
Preferred Qualification:
- Confirmed capability to work effectively in a team-based organization, collaborate cross-functionally and globally, exercise influence at very senior levels, and build alignment.
- Proven ability to lead, execute and successfully close search assignments.
- Ability to deliver results with little supervision, and to effectively manage multiple searches/projects and candidates.
- Deep understanding of talent acquisition and market research methodologies.
- Strong organization skills. Detail-oriented. Excellent time management skills.
- Hybrid of executive search firm and in-house corporate experience is a plus.
- Exceptional ability in verbal and written communication.
- Excellent presentation and phone/video communication skills; ability to extract information from sources and attract potential candidates to searches.
- Able to create instant credibility; intelligent, mature, self-confident, and assertive.
- Persuasive and communicative style tempered with empathy, fairness, and objectivity.
- Uses sound judgment; superior ability to thoroughly assess candidates' qualifications against position specification.
- Proactive and self-motivated, able to work independently towards a successful conclusion. Has a sense of urgency, commitment, and responsibility in addressing all search assignment timelines; takes initiative to stay ahead of the search process to assure optimal results for the Hiring Manager.
- Preferred work experience in networking, wireless and mobility, security, collaboration, data center, IoT, or software.
