We are seeking a strategic commercial sales leader responsible for driving top-line revenue, profitability, and cash flow for a rapidly growing organization. This role requires owning the business plan for targeted commercial markets, building a strong sales organization, and developing long-term partnerships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage commercial revenue growth across various markets:
- Small businesses
- Mid-market and core commercial sectors
- Regional accounts and strategic national partnerships
- Vertical markets (e.g., education, municipal, congregational organizations)
- Develop a strategic roadmap to support the organization’s expansion into SaaS offerings.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales operations to assess market size and growth potential across geographic regions.
- Partner with executive leadership to establish production, margin, and cashflow targets.
- Drive continuous improvement in sales processes and frameworks.
- Lead the development and alignment of the commercial sales organization:
- Assess existing leadership and talent within the commercial sales team
- Optimize team structure and align roles for maximum efficiency
- Partner with HR to recruit and onboard key talent
- Serve as a highly visible and hands-on leader, setting an example for the team by fostering respect and trust across the organization.
- Represent the company in community activities and develop relationships with key external stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with solutions management, marketing, and operations teams to ensure offerings align with customer needs and market trends.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with technology and industry partners to strengthen the company’s position.
Qualifications
- Strong business acumen with a clear understanding of how commercial sales contribute to the overall business strategy.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, HR, operations, finance, and sales operations.
- Expertise in communicating complex technical solutions to both internal teams and external customers in an accessible way.
- In-depth knowledge of the security systems industry, including products, services, and technology trends.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong leadership, motivation, and delegation capabilities.
Experience Requirements
- 10+ years of commercial sales and leadership experience within the security systems or technology services sector.
- Familiarity with estimating, design, and proposal processes for integrated solutions as well as packaged offerings.
- Experience leading a multi-layered organization with regional or national scope.
- Proven success working in a multi-location, matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and grow multi-location regional and national accounts.
- A track record of driving results and delivering measurable business outcomes.
- Comfortable leading in a fast-paced, high-transaction-volume environment.
