IT System Administrator who will be responsible for managing and maintaining the firm’s IT infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless operation of our technology systems to support the firm’s legal, administrative, and support teams.
About The Role
As the
IT System Administrator at Anderson Injury Lawyers, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can manage the firm's technology needs, troubleshoot issues, and implement innovative solutions to improve system efficiency. You’ll be responsible for maintaining critical network services, overseeing the security of our sensitive legal data, and providing day-to-day technical support to our staff.
In addition to managing our IT systems, you’ll also work closely with legal professionals to understand their specific technology requirements, ensuring that our tools and systems meet the demands of a fast-paced legal environment. This role will give you the opportunity to be a key part of the firm's growth, enhancing our IT capabilities and ensuring we stay ahead of industry best practices in cybersecurity, data management, and technology innovation.
What You'll Do
- Network Management: Install, configure, and manage local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and VPN connections.
- Server Maintenance: Manage server environments, including backups, disaster recovery, and server updates (both on-premises and cloud-based).
- User Support: Provide technical support to attorneys, paralegals, and staff for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Security Protocols: Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures, including firewalls, encryption, and security updates to protect sensitive legal data.
- Software Management: Manage the installation, maintenance, and updates of legal-specific software, including case management systems, document management systems, and billing software.
- Backup & Recovery: Oversee daily backups, system monitoring, and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and quick recovery in case of system failure.
- Compliance & Updates: Ensure IT systems meet industry compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR), and regularly update systems to keep up with legal technology trends.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors for hardware/software procurement, licensing, and support.
- Training: Provide training to staff on IT-related procedures, software, and security practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in managing Windows environments.
- Strong understanding of network protocols and configurations (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with legal software (e.g. Filevine) and data reporting software (e.g. Domo) is a plus.
- Basic experience with SQL for data retrieval and updates in a relational database.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware).
- Familiarity with IT compliance and security regulations applicable to law firms.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively support non-technical users.
