Job Title: Cybersecurity Engineer - Remote

We are currently in search of a knowledgeable and proactive Cybersecurity Engineer to bolster our capabilities in safeguarding information systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide cybersecurity support by engaging in various project tasks addressing specialized challenges and integrating electronic processes to resolve technology-related security issues.
- Assist in the planning, design, development, testing, demonstration, and integration of information systems with a heightened focus on security.
- Support assessment and authorization activities for Department of Defense (DoD) information systems, ensuring adherence to established processes.
- Document security control test results and manage Risk Management Framework (RMF)-related artifacts using eMASS.
- Lead initiatives to remediate vulnerabilities identified during security scans.
- Develop System Security Plans utilizing the RMF for DoD IT systems.
- Conduct Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) reviews and ensure compliance.
- Define system requirements based on user and client needs, cost considerations, and integration with existing applications.
- Collaborate with project managers, developers, and end users to ensure security and business requirements are met.
- Lead teams responsible for application systems and programming while providing operational support to development and testing teams.
- Remain updated with relevant cybersecurity and software engineering practices to achieve departmental goals effectively.
Required Skills
- DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, SSCP, GSEC).
- At least 6 years of direct experience in cybersecurity support.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities combined with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with securing cloud environments and knowledge of DevSecOps principles.
- In-depth understanding of network architecture and security protocols.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust security principles and architecture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Active Secret Clearance, with the ability to pass background screening.
