Responsibilities
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Hybrid Systems Engineer to join their team in Savannah, GA. Key Tasks:
- Systems Engineer will define and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess system health status, implementing preventative measures and processes to ensure optimal performance
- Utilize scripting to collect data and perform in-depth analysis, evaluating business impacts and prioritizing problem resolutions
- Manage preventive maintenance and ensure systems are up to date on application and operating system levels through change requests, projects, and release and deployment processes
- Responsible for software distribution and Windows patching, ensuring systems function normally post deployment
- Define disaster recovery processes and collaborate with internal technical teams, business units, and external stakeholders
- Work with offshore vendors to create quality assurance plans and perform testing for fixes and enhancements, collaborating with software vendors and IT teams to implement changes in the production environment
- Investigate equipment failures and difficulties, diagnosing faulty operations
- Understanding POS interfaces with central systems
- As a Systems Engineer, you will create gold images, build prototypes for pilots, create staging and configuration processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate POS systems with existing business applications and backend databases
- Translate complex business challenges into technical requirements, delivering solutions to meet business needs effectively
- Participate in projects and enhancements that involve changes to applications
- Configure and deploy POS hardware and software components, including terminals, scanners, printers, and payment processors
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for POS systems, resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain service levels
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Networking or relevant field or equivalent experience
- Understanding of ITIL framework especially in Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release and Deployment, etc.
- Experience with Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft patch management, Event Viewer, and Microsoft SQL
- Experience with database management, Azure environment, payment solutions, software distribution, and patch management tools
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and scripting e.g., Python Scripting, PowerShell Scripting, etc.
- Experience in creating gold images, ghosting, scripting, group policy, staging and configuration processes
- Strong technical experience in testing, design, and support
- Knowledge of retail and dining industry best practices with prior experience in Store Operations business processes and systems
- Have broad and strong knowledge of Store Systems hardware and software including POS, peripherals, pinpad, self-checkout, self-ordering kiosk, mobile solutions, etc.
- Proficiency in testing methodologies, test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium), and programming languages (e.g., Java, Python)
- Multitasking skills, able to prioritize, and juggle various projects and tasks concurrently
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills working with all levels of the organization and with external vendors
- Able to deal with ambiguity - can function without having the total picture
- Able to work independently and in a team environment
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
