- RBAC (role-based access control) rationalization has been something they’ve been trying to figure out for 3-4 years. Need dedicated resources focused on progressing their Identity Management platform and RBAC
Scope
- Identity Engineer will be collaborating with 8 others from ISO team, but operating independently doing own reporting and analysis to get fresh perspective on RBAC model.
- Identity Engineer plays a crucial role in managing and securing user identities and access within an organization
- Major focus on access control, audits/reports, documentation, troubleshooting, account management
Ongoing/Upcoming Projects
- Rationalizing current RBAC delegation model and making recommendations on how to optimize
- Disabling self-service portals for user self-management (end users will flow through Service Desk). Setting up MS Azure conditional access
Responsibilities
- Access Control: Ensure that the right people have access to the right resources by working closely with the IAM team.
- 25,000+ employees but with various Active Director accts
- Need to be fully aware of access models, what permissions AD grants
- Entra ID, Azure AD
- Documentation: Maintain documentation for the IAM program and update it according to changes in the organization’s business needs.
- Audits and Reporting: Participate in IAM audits and review access control reports to identify potential risks.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve IAM issues, and participate in IAM projects and initiatives.
- Administer User Accounts: Manage user accounts and access privileges in the organization's identity management system.
