The Vice President of Reporting & Analytics is a strategic leader responsible for driving the company's data and analytics strategy in the healthcare (payor) industry. This role leads a team of data analysts, business intelligence professionals, and data engineers to enable data-driven decision-making and deliver actionable insights supporting the company's growth. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a strong communicator, curious, and technically capable, with a passion for discovering and delivering data-driven business insights. This leader will play a pivotal role in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative workplace focused on innovation and continuous improvement, while ensuring regulatory compliance and data security.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute the company's reporting and analytics strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of data warehouses, lakes, and marts using Microsoft and cloud technologies (AWS and Azure).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and implement value-driving solutions.
- Present complex data findings to executive leadership and board members concisely.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all initiatives.
- Drive adoption of advanced analytics techniques, including predictive modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
- Manage integration of diverse data sources, including ERP, HRIS, Medicare Administration applications, health plan claims systems, and CMS data.
- Develop and maintain data governance frameworks compliant with HIPAA, PCI, NACHA, and SOC regulations.
- Direct creation of data pipelines, ETL processes, and transformation workflows using tools like SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and SQL databases.
- Supervise development of advanced analytics and visualization solutions using PowerBI, Tableau, SAS, and other tools.
- Mentor and develop data professionals, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain cutting-edge analytics capabilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in the healthcare industry, particularly with Medicare, Medicaid, ACA, and Commercial Health Plans.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft data warehouse technologies (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, SQL databases) and big data technologies on AWS and Azure.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, PCI, NACHA, and SOC compliance.
- Proficiency in Business Intelligence reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau or similar, required.
- Strong knowledge of relational, SQL and dimensional databases
- Experience with data warehouse design patterns, cube/tabular model
- Experience with ETL development is a strong plus
- Knowledge of Modelling Languages (R, Python), Big Data a plus
- Knowledge of Databricks and Snowflake data platforms is advantageous
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, decision-making and communication skills; strong business acumen.
