Job Overview
The Director of IT Process Management is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and optimization of IT processes and project management aligned to business goals. This role focuses on ensuring service delivery quality, and aligning IT processes and projects with business objectives. The Director will manage cross-functional teams to deliver technology projects, streamline workflows, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role manages, coaches and develops a team of 8-10 people to drive value, build partnerships and evolve the culture. Multiple functions are represented in this group – project management, process management and internal business relationship management – all need to link arms to deliver exceptional customer-centric solutions.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a project and process management strategy that aligns with the organization’s objectives and enhances service delivery.
- Drive the internal business relationship management (BRM) function to oversee the portfolio, prioritizing initiatives based on business value and resource availability.
- Act as a change agent to implement and manage processes and projects across the IT organization.
Project Planning And Execution
- Guide the planning and execution of multiple IT projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Utilize project management (PM) methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, Agile, Waterfall) to guide teams through the project lifecycle.
Process Design And Implementation
- Work with cross-functional IT teams to design, develop, and integrate IT processes and procedures utilizing industry standard frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT, CMMI).
- Ensure seamless execution of process improvement and change management related activities with communication planning, organizational readiness assessment and stakeholder analyses.
Internal Business Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain dynamic relationships with key internal clients, by collaborating with senior executives to devise and implement strategies.
- Lead regular assessments to understand client needs and expectations, while addressing and resolving internal client issues promptly and effectively.
Continuous Improvement
- Establish metrics, internal operational level agreements (OLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate process performance and project delivery quality, driving continuous improvement efforts.
- Facilitate process improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with IT leadership, business units, and stakeholders to ensure processes and projects meet their needs and support strategic objectives.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation to encourage process improvement across teams.
Job Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in IT process, project and business relationship management.
- Process management, service delivery, or operations, with a focus on process improvement (e.g., ITIL, Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma)
- Project management, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects, and relevant certification (e.g., PMP, PgMP) preferred.
- Business relationship management, with a focus on internal customer delivery of enterprise solutions and relevant certification (e.g., BRMP) preferred.
- Proven understanding of IT and process improvement methodologies.
- Dynamic knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Trello).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and drive change.
- Dedicated leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing, comparing and evaluating various courses of action and making autonomous judgments on matters of significance, within the scope of responsibilities.
